Spooner

The 11-bed, 4,000 square foot, Spooner Cottage was built in 1980 to provide around-the-clock, life-sustaining care to medically fragile, multiply handicapped clients. All Spooner Cottage clients have limited mobility. Most are confined to wheelchairs. Many Spooner Cottage clients require assistance to bathe, toilet, groom, and dress. With help from Key Center staff, Spooner and Contento Cottage residents enjoy community life when they attend church, dine in restaurants, go to the movies, and participate in other social events.

Spooner Cottage was made possibly by community donations and was named in honor of the late Josh Spooner, longtime Key Training Center Board President.

The home is licensed by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
