Recognizing Our DSPs

Making a Lasting Difference

During Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, September 14–18, we are proud to recognize Destiny Pond, an Instructor for Life Skills Development whose dedication is making a lasting difference in the lives of the individuals we serve.

For the past four years, Destiny has brought energy, encouragement and compassion to her work at the Key Training Center. During that time, she has helped three individuals obtain and maintain community employment.

Each has personally credited Destiny’s encouragement and belief in their abilities with helping them reach that important milestone.

Beyond Employment

Building Skills, Confidence & Community

Her impact extends far beyond employment.

Each day, Destiny manages two full work areas while helping individuals develop skills, confidence and greater independence. She also volunteers alongside individuals with Meals on Wheels, providing opportunities for them to give back and become more involved in their community.

For Destiny, however, the work has never been simply a job.

“This is not a job. This is my passion. I want to help people become all they can be.”
The Heart of Direct Support

Teachers, Mentors, Advocates & Supporters

That passion reflects what Direct Support Professionals bring to the Key Training Center every day. DSPs are teachers, mentors, advocates and supporters.

They celebrate accomplishments, encourage individuals through challenges and help create opportunities for each person to reach their God-given potential.

Thank You, Destiny

You Are the Key
